MS TechDays Sweden 2016 – Visio and SharePoint BPM portals

I am on my way home after presenting and demoing Visio and SharePoint BPM portals at Kistamassan near Stockholm. I was staying at the Scandic Victoria Tower right next door. Very handy, and very tall. It is a striking building, as can be seen in my photos below, however, speaking as an ex-architect, I was disappointed to find the modern interior spoilt by large, but inadequate, curtains that took several minutes to draw over the large number of triangular windows in my room. I really think it would have been worth installing electric auto-tinting glass.


I was on the corner of the 18th of 34 floors, and I took a picture with my Ricoh Theta. This is a great camera that was given to me, as a speaker at MS Ignite, several weeks ago. Follow this link, https://t.co/y8nrK0geAO , to see a 360 degree view of my room 🙂
As for the conference, there were some really interesting talks … everyone in Sweden speaks English! I was particularly inspired by Bill Buxton, billbuxton.com, who made a great case for ubiety, which is definitely my new word of the day. Basically a truth cannot be considered without context, or place. We developers need to ensure that our interfaces are the best for the situation that they are used in.
